TouchPad cable Description TouchPad cable Spare part number 856008-001 Before removing the TouchPad cable, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the keyboard/top cover (see Keyboard/top cover on page 34). Remove the TouchPad cable: 1. Turn the keyboard/top cover upside down with the front toward you. 2. Release the tape (1) that secures the TouchPad cable ZIF connector. 3. Release the ZIF connector (2) to which the TouchPad cable is attached, and then disconnect the TouchPad cable (3) from the TouchPad. 4. Remove the TouchPad cable. Before removing the TouchPad cable, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by
first
unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the keyboard/top cover (see

).
Remove the TouchPad cable:
1.
Turn the keyboard/top cover upside down with the front toward you.
2.
Release the tape
(1)
that secures the TouchPad cable ZIF connector.
3.
Release the ZIF connector
(2)
to which the TouchPad cable is attached, and then disconnect
the TouchPad cable
(3)
from the TouchPad.
4.
Remove the TouchPad cable.
Reverse this procedure to install the TouchPad cable.
