Touchpad To remove the touchpad, use this procedure and illustration. Table 5-6 Touchpad description and part number Description Touchpad, natural silver Touchpad, ceramic white Touchpad, pale rose gold Touchpad, warm gold Touchpad cable Spare part number M52799-001 M52800-001 M52801-001 M52802-001 M52811-001 Before removing the touchpad, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 29). 2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 29). 3. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 31). Remove the touchpad: 1. Disconnect the touchpad cable from the ZIF connector on the touchpad (1). 2. Remove the rubber piece that covers the middle screw (2). 3. Remove the three Phillips M2.0 × 2.0 screws (3) that secure the touchpad to the computer. 4. Lift the top of the touchpad up to about 45° (4), and then pull the touchpad into the computer to remove it (5).
