Removing the Optical Drive

8. Remove the four screws that secure the drive to the drive cage (1), and then slide the drive forward out of the drive bay (2). Figure 2-18 Removing the Optical Drive NOTE: When replacing a drive, use the four retainer screws that were used for the old drive when installing the new drive. To install an optical drive: 1. Follow the procedure above to remove the old optical drive. 2. If necessary, remove the bezel blank covering the 5.25-inch drive bay. Refer to Removing the Bezel Blank on page 7. 3.
