3 Troubleshooting Your PC HP DiagTools HP DiagTools HP DiagTools is a utility that helps you diagnose hardware-related problems on HP Vectra PCs and PC Workstations. It is designed to help you to: • Identify and report the configuration of your system. • Diagnose hardware-related problems by running tests at two levels: basic and advanced. • Provide precise information about the PC and test results to support personnel in your organization, at HP or your Authorized Support Provider, so that they can solve any problems quickly and effectively. It is important that you use the latest version of this utility to diagnose hardware-related problems. HP Support Agents may request that you do so in the process of providing support. The latest version of this utility can be obtained from HP Electronic Information Services, available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To access these services you should connect to the HP Web site at: http://www.hp.com/go/vectrasupport/. If Your PC Does Not Start Properly If your display is blank and there are no error messages when you turn on your PC, follow this procedure: • Check that the computer and display are turned on. (The power light should be illuminated.) • Check the display's contrast and brightness settings. • Check that all cables and power cords are firmly plugged in. • Check that the power outlet is working. If the problem persists, contact the people in your organization who support and maintain the PCs on your network. 34 English
