Intel Desktop Board D915GAV/D915GAG Technical Product Specification 2.11.3 Fan Connector Current Capability CAUTION The processor fan must be connected to the processor fan connector, not to a chassis fan connector. Connecting the processor fan to a chassis fan connector may result in onboard component damage that will halt fan operation. Table 40 lists the current capability of the fan connectors. Table 40. Fan Connector Current Capability Fan Connector Processor fan Front chassis fan Rear chassis fan Rear chassis fan 2 Maximum Available Current 1000 mA 600 mA 600 mA 600 mA NOTE The rear chassis fan 2 is available only on the D915GAV board. It is not available on the D915GAG board. 2.11.4 Power Supply Considerations CAUTION The +5 V standby line for the power supply must be capable of providing adequate +5 V standby current. Failure to do so can damage the power supply. The total amount of standby current required depends on the wake devices supported and manufacturing options. System integrators should refer to the power usage values listed in Table 39 when selecting a power supply for use with the board. Additional power required will depend on configurations chosen by the integrator. The power supply must comply with the following recommendations found in the indicated sections of the ATX form factor specification. • The potential relation between 3.3 VDC and +5 VDC power rails (Section 4.2) • The current capability of the +5 VSB line (Section 4.2.1.2) • All timing parameters (Section 4.2.1.3) • All voltage tolerances (Section 4.2.2) 82
