Password Jumper The jumper at pins 3-4 control whether the user and supervisor passwords are retained or cleared during a system reset. Procedure to clear the current password and then enter a new one: 1. See "General Procedure to Change Jumper Setting" on page 68. 2. Install a jumper on pins 3-4. 3. Reinstall the side cover for your safety, and connect the power cord to the system. 4. Turn the system on, and wait for POST to complete. This automatically clears the password. 5. Turn off the system, and disconnect the power cord. 6. Remove the side cover. 7. Remove the jumper from pins 3 and 4. 8. Reinstall the side cover, and connect the power cord to the system. 9. Password Jumper
The jumper at pins 3-4 control whether the user and supervisor passwords are retained or cleared
during a system reset.
Procedure to clear the current password and then enter a new one:
1.
See “General Procedure to Change Jumper Setting” on page 68.
2.
Install a jumper on pins 3-4.
3.
Reinstall the side cover for your safety, and connect the power cord to the system.
4.
Turn the system on, and wait for POST to complete.
This automatically clears the password.
5.
Turn off the system, and disconnect the power cord.
6.
Remove the side cover.
7.
Remove the jumper from pins 3 and 4.
8.
Reinstall the side cover, and connect the power cord to the system.
9.
Run Setup to specify a new password.
