7 SETUP/MAINTENANCE Disconnecting/Connecting the Vent Battery Wiring Harness - FDX with Vent Tray Option  For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 21 on page 112. If replacing the vent battery or the vent battery wiring harness, discard the existing item being replaced and perform STEP 7 using the new vent battery or vent battery wiring harness. Reverse this procedure to connect the vent battery wiring harness. 1. Remove the existing vent tray battery. Refer to Removing/Installing the Vent Battery on page 108. 2. Cut the tie-wrap that secures the battery terminal cap in place. 3. Slide the RED battery terminal cover back on the RED battery cable to expose the POSITIVE battery terminal. 4. Slide the BLACK battery terminal cover back on the BLACK battery cable to expose NEGATIVE battery terminal. ƽ WARNING NEVER allow any of your tools and/or battery cable(s) to contact BOTH battery post(s) at the same time. An electrical short may occur and serious personal injury or damage may occur. 5. Remove the locknut and mounting screw that secures the POSITIVE battery cable to the POSITIVE (+) battery post of the battery. 6. Remove the locknut and mounting screw that secures the NEGATIVE battery cable to the NEGATIVE(-) battery post of the battery. 7. Reverse STEPS 3-6 to connect the vent battery wiring harness to the vent battery.  Terminal caps and tie-wraps not shown. Use new tie-wraps when connecting the vent battery wiring harness. Disconnecting/Connecting the Vent Battery Wiring Harness - FDX with Vent Tray Option
1.
Remove the existing vent tray battery. Refer to Removing/Installing
the Vent Battery
on page 108.
2.
Cut the tie-wrap that secures the battery terminal cap in place.
3.
Slide the RED battery terminal cover back on the RED battery cable
to expose the POSITIVE battery terminal.
4.
Slide the BLACK battery terminal cover back on the BLACK
battery cable to expose NEGATIVE battery terminal.
5.
Remove the locknut and mounting screw that secures the
POSITIVE battery cable to the POSITIVE (+) battery post of the
battery.
6.
Remove the locknut and mounting screw that secures the
NEGATIVE battery cable to the NEGATIVE(-) battery post of the
battery.
7.
Reverse STEPS 3-6 to connect the vent battery wiring harness to
the vent battery.

Reverse this procedure to connect the vent
battery wiring harness.
