When folder duplication is enabled, the 5big Backup Server will copy files in the folder to other disks. If you have chosen to turn off folder duplication, the duplicate files from the folder will be deleted, providing more space on the Storage Hard Drives. LaCie recommends duplicating all folders since it guards files from being lost due to a disk failure. 3.2.1.1. Folder Duplication with a single disk in the enclosure Please note the following behavior regarding Folder Duplication and Windows Home Server with only one disk in the pool of Storage Hard Drives: ✦✦ Folder Duplication requires a minimum of two hard drives. A 5big Backup Server with only one drive in the pool of Storage Hard Drives cannot enable Folder Duplication. ✦✦ Folder Duplication will not be enabled by default when the Connector is run on a 5big Backup Server with only one disk.
