Chapter 3 Frequency/Voltage Control This section describes how to set the CPU FSB frequency, spread spectrum etc. CMOS Setup Utility - Copyright(C) 1984-2000 Award Software Frequency/Voltage Control Auto Detect DIMM/PCI Clk Spread Spectrum Modulated CPU Host/PCI Clock Enabled Enabled Default Item Help Menu Level 8 Move Enter:Select +/-/PU/PD:Value F10:Save ESC:Exit F1:General Help F5:Previous Values F6:Fail-Safe Defaults F7:Optimized Defaults Auto Detect DIMM/PCI Clk This item is used to auto detect the DIMM/PCI slots. When set to Enabled, the system will remove (turn off) clocks from empty DIMM/PCI slots to minimize the electromagnetic interference (EMI). Settings: Enabled, Disabled. Spread Spectrum Modulated This item is used to configure the clock generator's Spread Spectrum feature. Settings: Disabled, Enabled. Always disable the feature when overclocking the processor. CPU Host/PCI Clock This item specifies the clock frequency of CPU host bus (FSB) and PCI bus. It provides a method for end users to overclock the processor. If the item shows Default, the clock frequency will use the default value for the CPU host bus and PCI bus. 3-30
