F12 Cause/Solution A • Off is selected for Sound settings > Shutter sound in setup menu. No sound is heard with some shooting modes and settings, even when On is selected. • Do not block the speaker. 86, E52 3, 5 Off is selected for the AF assist option in the setup menu. AF-assist illuminator may not light depending on the current scene mode, even when Auto is selected. 86, E51 Lens is dirty. Clean lens. Noise can be reduced by using 50 flash. • The flash mode is set to W (off). • Flash window is blocked. • Subject is beyond flash range. • Adjust exposure compensation. • Subject is backlit.
