Turning the power on/off The viewfinder or monitor turned off • To reduce battery consumption, the lens retracts to the widest position and the camera automatically enters the sleep mode after about 3 minutes of non- operation. The camera activates again as soon as you touch the shutter button or zoom lever. To resume operation, turn the camera on again. • If the camera is subjected to strong vibration or impact while it is turned on, it may turn off momentarily and the date and other settings return to the Note factory default settings. If there is no card in the camera or a card that is not supported by this camera is inserted, the following screen is displayed. If a card is already inserted, remove it and insert it again. The card cannot record, play back or erase pictures. Replace the card with a new one or format the card. → Press ac to select POWER OFF, then press e. Replace the card with a new one. → Format the card. Press ac to select I FORMAT, then press e to display the confirmation screen. Select YES and press e. Formatting starts. If the card was successfully formatted, the camera is ready to take pictures. • All data stored on the card is erased when the card is formatted. Note 26
