MENU[W][GRADATION] x Notes • Contrast adjustment does not work when set to [HIGH KEY] or [LOW KEY]. Shading compensation In some cases, the edges of the image may be shadowed due to the properties of the lens. The shading compensation function compensates by increasing brightness at the dark edge of the image. This function is especially useful when a wide-angle lens is used. MENU[Z][SHADING COMP.] [OFF]/[ON] x Notes • This function is not available when a teleconverter or an extension tube is attached to the camera. • At higher ISO settings, noise in image edges may be conspicuous. Noise reduction This function reduces the noise that is generated during long exposures. When shooting night scenes, shutter speeds are slower and noise tends to appear in images. When the shutter speed is slow, noise reduction is activated and the camera automatically reduces noise to produce clearer images. However, shooting time is approximately twice as long as usual.
