Auto pop up The built-in flash pops up automatically in low light or backlight conditions while in the AUTO or scene mode. This allows you to stop the built-in flash from popping up automatically. MENU[Y][AUTO POP UP] [ON] : The built-in flash pops up automatically. [OFF] : The built-in flash will not pop up automatically. ; FUNCTION This lets you assign a function to the < button. MENU[Y][; FUNCTION] [OFF] Does not allow function allocation. [V] Press the < button to acquire the WB value. g "Setting the one-touch white balance" (P. 60) [TEST PICTURE] Pressing the shutter button while pressing the < button enables you to check the picture you have just taken on the monitor without having to record the picture to the card. This is useful when you want to see how a picture turned out without saving it. MENU[Y][LIVE VIEW BOOST] [OFF] The subject is displayed on the monitor with the brightness level that is adjusted according to the exposure being set. You can shoot while confirming through the monitor in advance to get a picture that is to your liking. [ON] The camera automatically adjusts the brightness level and displays the subject on the monitor for easier confirmation. The effect of the exposure compensation adjustments will not be reflected on the monitor. Customizing the control dial's function You can set the control dial's operation to settings the opposite from the factory default setting. The control dial can be used to operate the exposure compensation setting instead of the program shift setting in P mode, and the aperture value setting instead of the shutter speed setting in M mode.
