Taking Pictures • When the (Kids), (Sport) or E (Pet) mode is selected, the automatic tracking AF function operates and the camera continues to adjust the focus on the moving subject even after the shutter release button is pressed halfway. • In Picture mode, EV Compensation, AE Metering, Saturation, Contrast, Sharpness and White Balance are automatically set to their default settings. You cannot change the settings. Switches between Portrait Mode and Kids Mode When Portrait Mode is selected, you can switch between Portrait Mode and Kids Mode. "Kids Mode" is good for taking pictures of fast moving children. The pictures show healthy children with bright skin tone. 4 When "Kids Mode" is selected, the "Kids Mode" icon is displayed in the Capture Mode Palette until the "Portrait Mode" is selected again. 1 Press the four-way controller (3) in Capture mode. The mode palette is displayed. 2 Select with the four-way controller (2345). 3 Press the OK button. The screen for choosing a mode for taking portraits appears. 4 Select Kids Mode or Portrait Mode with the four-way controller (23). : Kids mode : Portrait mode 5 Press the OK button. The camera goes to the selected capture mode and pictures can be taken. 6 Press the shutter release button halfway. The focus frame on the LCD monitor turns green if the subject is in focus. 7 Press the shutter release button fully. The picture is taken. 58

Taking Pictures

When Portrait Mode is selected, you can switch between Portrait Mode
and Kids Mode.
“Kids Mode” is good for taking pictures of fast moving children. The
pictures show healthy children with bright skin tone.
When “Kids Mode” is selected, the “Kids Mode” icon is displayed in the
Capture Mode Palette until the “Portrait Mode” is selected again.
