Appendix Additional Information Understanding built-in CD player error messages When problems occur during CD play an error message may appear on the display. If an error message appears, refer to the table below to see what the problem is and the suggested method of correcting the problem. If the error cannot be corrected, contact your dealer or your nearest Pioneer Service Center. ! Cassette tapes exposed to high temperatures may warp and jam the cassette player. Keep cassettes out of direct sunlight or places where there are high temperatures. Message Cause Action ERROR-11, 12, Dirty disc 17, 30 Clean disc. ERROR-10, 11, Electrical or me12, 14, 17, 30, chanical A0 Turn the ignition ON and OFF, or switch to a different source, then back to the CD player. ERROR-44 All tracks are skip tracks Replace disc. HEAT CD player overheated Turn off the CD player until the CD player cools down. Cassette tapes ! A loose, torn or warped label on a cassette tape can jam the cassette player. Do not use cassette tapes with loose, torn or warped labels. ! Cassette tapes longer than C-90 (90-minute tapes) can cause the tape to jam in the cassette player. Do not use tapes longer than C-90. ! Store unused tapes in a tape case where there is no danger of them becoming loose, dirty or dusty. Cleaning the playback head If the head becomes dirty, the sound quality will get bad and there will be sound dropouts and other problems. If you have any of these problems the head may need cleaning. Music search and repeat functions during tape playback Music search and repeat functions may not work with these tapes: ! A tape with a gap of 4 seconds or less be- tween songs ! message may appear on the display. If an
error message appears, refer to the table
below to see what the problem is and the sug-
gested method of correcting the problem. If
the error cannot be corrected, contact your
