5 Configure IP settings. Select Obtain an IP address automatically when using DHCP. If you use a static IP, select Use the following IP address and enter the values. Using both DHCP and a fixed IP simultaneously Using the Alternate Configuration provided by Windows, you can set both automatic and fixed IP addresses and then you can select to use either of them to connect to the Internet.
