Using Maxtor Encryption
Maxtor Encryption offers the encryption of multiple files and folders in one location, the
Maxtor Encryption folder. After you create and set a password for the Encryption Folder,
you can simply drag and drop files and folders into it to secure them.
These types of files and folders cannot be dragged into your encrypted folder:
Already-encrypted files
Installer packages
Applications
Development Tools
The Encryption operation is Copy only; no files are moved on your computer. Thus the
original, unencrypted version of a file or folder remains on your computer. For total security,
you should delete the unencrypted version.
If you leave an unencrypted version of a file or folder on your computer, when you decrypt
the encrypted version, you’re asked permission to overwrite the original unencrypted
version from your computer.
