Setting the Recording Mode 1 2 3, 4 About recording time This device normally records onto the disc in minimum units of about 8 seconds in 2ch mode (or 4 seconds in 4ch mode). When recording is stopped, the entire 8 seconds (or 4 seconds) of the last unit of recording is always used even if the actual recording is shorter. Likewise, when recording is restarted after the stop, recording starts from the next space. This is to avoid accidental erasing of the previous track whenever a new recording is started. Therefore the maximum potential recording time actually decreases by up to 8 seconds (or 4 seconds) every time a recording is stopped. The condition of the disc can also prevent recording to the end of the maximum potential recording time. The relationship between the recording mode, recording time and channel number is shown below. Insert the key and set it to ON.
You will see the initial screen in a few seconds.

You will see the CHANGE REC MODE screen.

Select either 2ch or 4ch, and press ENTER.
The display will return to the information screen.
You will see the selected recording mode (2ch or 4ch).
