Table of contents Sample photo Intelligent Auto The camera analyzes the subject, and allows you to shoot with appropriate settings. 1 MENU t [Shoot Mode] t [Intelligent Auto]. 2 Point the camera to the subject. When the camera recognizes the scene, the Scene Recognition icon and guide appear on the screen. The camera recognizes (Night Scene), (Tripod Night Scene), (Night Portrait), (Backlight), (Backlight Portrait), (Portrait), (Landscape), (Macro), (Spotlight), (Low Brightness), or (Baby). Scene Recognition icon and guide 3 Adjust the focus and shoot the subject. Menu Index Notes • [Flash Mode] is set to [Autoflash] or [Flash Off]. • You can shoot even if the camera has not recognized the scene. • When [Face Detection] is set to [Off], the [Portrait], [Backlight Portrait], [Night Portrait], and [Baby] scenes are not recognized. The advantages of automatic shooting In Superior Auto mode, the camera shoots with higher quality than Intelligent Auto mode and perform composite shooting as necessary. In Program Auto mode, the camera shoots with various functions, such as white balance, ISO, etc., adjusted. Shooting mode (Intelligent Auto) (Superior Auto) (page 52) (Program Auto) (page 64) Your purpose • To easily recognize the scene and shoot continuous images. • To shoot scenes under difficult circumstances, such as when you have dark scenes, or back-lit subjects. • To shoot a higher quality image than that offered by Intelligent Auto. • To shoot with various functions other than the exposure (shutter speed and aperture) adjusted. Note • In Superior Auto mode, the recording process takes longer, since the camera must make a composite image. z Photo Creativity Pressing the center of the control wheel in [Intelligent Auto] or [Superior Auto] mode accesses the Photo Creativity menu.
