If it'scolderthan 50°F (lO°C), drivethevehiclein 0 (3rdgear)untiltheengine temperaturegagemovesandthenremainssteadyfortenminutes.Then followthe hot checkprocedures. To checktransmissionfluid cold: A coldcheckismadeafterthevehicle off andisusedonly hasbeensittingforeighthoursormorewiththeengine five minutes if outside asareference.Lettheenginerunatidlefor temperatures are 50°F (IO'C) or more.If it's colderthan 50°F (1O'C), you mayhave to idletheenginelonger.
