Checking ThingsUnder the Hood Hood Release NOTICE: An electric fan under the hood can start up and injure you even when engine is not running. the Keep hands, clothing and tools awayfrom any underhood electric fan. In order to avoid possiblecontact of the hood to the headlamp doors, care should be taken in raising the hood withthe headlamps up, or shut off the lamps prior to opening hood. the Things that burn can onhot engine parts and get start a fire. Theseinclude liquids like gasoline, oil, coolant,brake fluid, windshieldwasher and other fluids, and plastic or rubber. You or others could be burned. Be careful not to drop or spill things that will burn onto a hot engine. 6-8
