152 Climate control system Side air vents Controls in detail Example illustration driver's side : Left side defroster air vent, fixed ; Left side air vent, adjustable = Thumbwheel for air volume control for i You should keep air vent ; closed when outside temperatures are low. X adjustable left side air vent X Opening/closing: Turn thumbwheel = upward or downward. Opening the air vent: Make sure air vent ; is unobstructed. X Turn thumbwheel : upwards. X Closing the air vent: Turn thumbwheel : downwards. Ventilated glove box The glove box can be ventilated, for instance to cool its contents, when the climate control system is activated. The level of airflow to the glove box depends on the airflow and air distribution settings. The temperature of the air is approximately the same as that of the air flowing from the center air vents. AIRSCARF vent G Warning! When switching on the AIRSCARF neck-level heating, the air streaming from the openings may be very hot. When in close proximity to the openings, you could be seriously burned. To help avoid serious personal injuries, switch the AIRSCARF to a lower heating level. ! Close the glove box air vent when heating the vehicle interior. Activate the air conditioning (cooling function) when the outside temperature is high. Otherwise, temperature-sensitive items stored in the glove box could be damaged. : AIRSCARF vent You can switch on the AIRSCARF neck-level heating with the AIRSCARF switch (Y page 84).
