l UNLEADED FUEL ONLY kE.GE+ Odometer and Trip Odometer (ELECTRONICCLUSTER) Your odometer shows how far your vehicle has been driven, in either miles (used in the U.S.)or kilometers (used in Canada). Your trip odometer tells how far you have drivensince you last reset it. F ELONLY Trip mileage appears in place of the regular odometer reading when you press the TRIP switch down. To change back to theregular odometer, press the TRIP switch again. Your Oldsmobile has a tamper resistant odometer. Theodometer will read ERROR if someone has tampered with it. You may wonder what happens if your vehicle needs a new odometer installed. If the new one can be set to themileage total of the old odometer, then it must be. But if it can't, then it's set at zero and a label must be put on thedriver's door to show the old mileage reading when thenew odometer was installed. To set the tripodometer to zero, press :he TRIP switch to display the trip ldometer. Then, press the RESET ;witch. 82
