Chapter 1 1.1.7 Onboard LEDs 1. Q LEDs (CPU, DRAM, VGA, BOOT) Q LEDs check key components (CPU, DRAM, VGA card, and booting devices) in sequence during motherboard booting process. If an error is found, the corresponding LED remains lit until the problem is solved. This user-friendly design provides an intuitive way to locate the root problem within seconds. BOOT (YELLOW GREEN) VGA (WHITE) CPU (RED) DRAM (YELLOW) STRIX X399-E GAMING ROG STRIX X399-E GAMING Q-LED The order which the LEDs light up may vary per CPU. The Q LEDs provide the most probable cause of an error code as a starting point for troubleshooting. The actual cause may vary from case to case. 2. Q-Code LED The Q-Code LED design provides you with a 2-digit error code that displays the system status. Refer to the Q-Code table on the next page for details.
