Introduction 1 This book is intended to help users who have a basic understanding of Microsoft® Windows® to install and implement Autodesk® Vault successfully in a Microsoft Windows network environment. We assume that you understand Windows® navigation as well as installing and uninstalling software in a Windows environment. In the following chapters, we explain the best practices for implementing Autodesk® Vault, and the recommended methods for deploying the data management server. Although these methods are not the only methods for deploying the software, they are the most robust and easiest to maintain. Use this guide as a starting point. If your business needs demand it, you can change the configuration later.
