Scan Using Your Computer Image Quality 6 1 Diffusion Adjustment-Gray This function adjusts the brightness and contrast to create gray images.  Brightness Larger values lighten the image.  Contrast Larger values increase the contrast in the image. Excessively large values may result in a black and white image. NOTE This function is available when the Gray (Error Diffusion) scan type is selected. 2 Color Tone Adjustment 6 Allows you to adjust the brightness, contrast, shadow, highlight, and gamma during gray and color scanning. The default setting is Custom.  Auto Scans the document using the optimal settings based on its content.  Custom Allows you to set the Brightness, Contrast, Shadow, Highlight and Gamma manually. Original Brightness: 25 Contrast: 25 Shadow: 122 Highlight: 240 Gamma: 5.0 NOTE • Shadow cannot be set to a larger value than Highlight. • This function is available when the Auto, True Gray, or 24bit Color scan type is selected. 115
