(Unit: mm) Conditions for Multifeed Detection 2 A multifeed is an error when two or more sheets are fed through the ADF at once or when a different document length is detected. Multifeed detection is performed by either checking the overlapping of documents, length of the documents, or a combination of both. The following conditions are required for an accurate detection:  Load documents of the same paper weight in the Paper Guides.  Paper weight must be between 7 and 110 lb (27 to 413 g/m2).  Do not punch holes within 1.57 in. (40 mm) of the document's center.  Do not attach other documents within 1.57 in. (40 mm) of the document's center.  The document must be centered at the Pick Up Roller.  Scanning thick documents, such as plastic cards, may cause a false multifeed error. If this happens, disable multifeed detection. 55
