10 Troubleshooting 10 Overview This chapter describes procedures for troubleshooting problems you may encounter with a Brother print server, it is divided into the following sections: 1 Wireless Setup Problems 2 Network Initial Setup Problems 3 Intermittent Problems 4 Protocol-Specific Troubleshooting Wireless Setup Problems Before you configure the NC-7100w print server, you need to temporarily change your computer's wireless settings to communicate with the unconfigured print server. If you are unable to see NC-7100w network (SETUP) in the list when using Windows® XP or Mac OS® X 10.1 to 10.3, check the following: For more information, refer to the Quick Setup Guide that was supplied with this product. 1 Move your printer with the print server installed closer to your PC and try again. 2 Reset the print server back to its default factory setting and try again. See How to Print a Network Configuration Page on page A-8 for information how to reset to factory default setting. 3 Follow the steps below according to your operating system version, Windows® XP or Mac OS® X 10.1 to 10.3. Overview

Wireless Setup Problems
Before you configure the NC-7100w print server, you need to
temporarily change your computer’s wireless settings to
communicate with the unconfigured print server.
If you are unable to see NC-7100w network (SETUP) in the list when
using Windows
®
XP or Mac OS
®
X 10.1 to 10.3, check the following:
