Appendix A. Updating CRVW3 Firmware From time to time, Campbell Scientific will release updates to the CRVW3 firmware (also known as the Operating System or OS) which will improve the operating stability of the product and may introduce minor feature enhancements. Once published, these are available for download from the Campbell Scientific website: www.campbellsci.com/downloads The version of the OS currently active in the CRVW3 is shown in the Status table (as OSVersion) which can be viewed in the Data Monitor tab of DevConfig or in the Table Monitor in the ConnectScreen of LoggerNet. The version of the OS is also shown in the Main tab on the Settings Editor tab of DevConfig. A date (OSDate) and signature (OSSignature) are also shown to help ensure proper installation. Compare your current OS version to that available on the website to determine whether an update is required. Campbell support personnel may also provide you with a CRVW3 OS under certain circumstances. The OS is packaged as an *.obj file. This file can be sent to the CRVW3 using DevConfig or LoggerNet. When the CRVW3 receives an *.obj file, the update of the firmware is triggered automatically. NOTE Any attempt to send a new OS to the CRVW3 will reset the final storage on the device. You should collect any data needed from the CRVW3 before making any attempt to update its OS. The settings of the device will remain intact. To install the OS with DevConfig: 1. Open DevConfig and choose the CRVW Series for the device. 2. Choose the Send OS tab. A-1
