The tips of the spurs make contact with printed paper and are contaminated with ink, but due to their small surface contact area, the tips, cleaned by the spur cleaners, will not stain the printed paper. However, if the tips are bent and their surface contact area increases, they collect more ink and are not easily cleaned by the spur cleaners, and thereby stain the printed paper by making dotted lines on it. 2.3.1 Spurs
Take care not to bend the tips of the spurs.
The tips of the spurs make contact with
printed paper and are contaminated with ink, but due to their small surface contact
area, the tips, cleaned by the spur cleaners, will not stain the printed paper.
However, if the tips are bent and their surface contact area increases, they collect
more ink and are not easily cleaned by the spur cleaners, and thereby stain the
printed paper by making dotted lines on it.
