You Cannot Operate the Remote Control

Troubleshooting Cause The lamp has broken (or there is a lamp malfunction). The operating temperature is inappropriate. Other reasons Countermeasure Check whether the lamp has broken. If the lamp has broken, follow the instructions in "Precautions on the lamp" on page 19. If the lamp has not broken, there may be a malfunction with the lamp. Check the lamp by replacing it with a spare lamp if you have one. (P20, P159, P160) Check whether the operating temperature is between 5°C and 35°C. (P22) If you use the projector at 2300 m or higher above sea level, contact your Canon dealer. The projector may be damaged. Contact your Canon dealer. ■You Cannot Operate the Remote Control Cause Batteries are not installed properly or they have run out. You are operating the remote control from the outside of the remote control operating range. There is an obstacle between the projector and the remote control. You are operating the remote control in an unsuitable operating environment. The channel setting of the remote control does not match the setting of the projector. The key lock function is preventing operation of the remote control. Countermeasure Check whether batteries are installed correctly. If batteries are installed correctly, replace them with new batteries. (P24) Check whether you are operating the remote control within the remote control operating range. (P25) Remove the obstacle between the infrared remote receiver of the projector and the remote control or point the remote control to an obstacle-free path. Check whether the infrared remote receiver of the projector is exposed to direct sunlight or strong light of lighting apparatus.
