Troubleshooting For troubleshooting the following procedure, refer to the respective pages. - Installation of the Canon USB Video Driver ( 86) - Installation of the AV/C Camera Storage Subunit-WIA Driver ( 87) E - Uninstallation of the Canon USB Video Driver and AV/C Camera Storage Subunit-WIA Driver ( 87) DV Messenger Connection Canon camcorder: [Canon USB Video] or [Canon DV Device] does not appear in the [Audio Tuning Wizard] dialog. Î Check if the camcorder is correctly connected to the computer using the USB cable or DV cable. Î If you have a camcorder with NETWORK mode, check if the POWER switch is set to NETWORK. If you have a camcorder without NETWORK mode, check if the POWER switch is set to position other than OFF. Î You have not performed the [Windows Messenger Audio Update]. Please consult Microsoft for details. Cannot connect DVMessenger. Î DV Messenger does not connect if your contact has not started DV Messenger. Retry after your contact has started DV Messenger. If your contact does not have DV Messenger, ask him to download the latest version of DV Messenger from the Canon homepage. Î DV Messenger does not connect if your contact is using DV Messenger Version 1. Ask your contact to download the latest version of DV Messenger from the Canon homepage. Î If you are using a router, the router must be UPnP compatible. Please consult the router manufacturer for details. In addition, the router needs to be recognized as "Internet Gateway Device" ( 26). You also need to disable Windows XP's firewall ( 29). Please note that proper operation cannot be guaranteed for any particular router, even if it meets all requirements. Î If an anti-virus software is installed on your computer, the firewall of the software may be active. In such case, you need to deactivate its firewall function. For further details, consult your software or computer manufacturer. When connecting DV Messenger, a character string starting with "#" appears. DV Messenger
Connection
Canon camcorder: [Canon USB Video] or [Canon DV Device] does not
appear in the [Audio Tuning Wizard] dialog.
Check if the camcorder is correctly connected to the computer using the
USB cable or DV cable.
If you have a camcorder with NETWORK mode, check if the POWER
switch is set to NETWORK.
If you have a camcorder without NETWORK mode, check if the POWER
switch is set to position other than OFF.
You have not performed the [Windows Messenger Audio Update].
Please consult Microsoft for details.
Cannot connect DVMessenger.
DV Messenger does not connect if your contact has not started DV
Messenger. Retry after your contact has started DV Messenger.
If your contact does not have DV Messenger, ask him to download the
latest version of DV Messenger from the Canon homepage.
DV Messenger does not connect if your contact is using DV Messenger
Version 1. Ask your contact to download the latest version of DV
Messenger from the Canon homepage.
If you are using a router, the router must be UPnP compatible. Please
consult the router manufacturer for details. In addition, the router needs to
