I Data Error Precautions • Your digital camera is manufactured using precision digital components. GETTING READY Power Requirements Your camera is powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery (NP-20). Loading the Rechargeable Battery 1. Slide the battery cover in the direction indicated by the arrow, and then swing it open. 2. BASIC IMAGE RECORDING Digital Zoom Digital zoom digitally enlarges the part of the image at the center of the image screen. The range of digital zoom is 3X to 12X (in combination with optical zoom). BASIC IMAGE RECORDING Using the Flash Perform the following steps to select the flash mode you want to use. • The approximate effective range of the flash is shown below. Make sure that you keep the camera still until the shutter releases. • Using the flash while "Auto" increases sensitivity, which can cause large amounts of digital noise to appear in the image. BASIC IMAGE RECORDING Specifying Image Size "Image size" is the size of the image, expressed as the number of vertical and horizontal pixels. A "pixel" is one of the many tiny dots that make up the image. More pixels provide finer detail when an image is printed, but a higher pixel count also causes - Casio EX S600 | Owners Manual - Page 69

RECORDING FUNCTIONS Selecting the Focus Mode You can select one of five different focus modes: Auto Focus, Macro, Pan Focus, Infinity, and Manual Focus. • The exposure compensation Focus mode indicator value is displayed on the monitor screen. 1. OTHER RECORDING FUNCTIONS Using Auto Focus As its name suggests, Auto Focus focuses the image automatically. The automatic focus operation starts when you press the shutter button down half way. OTHER RECORDING FUNCTIONS Using Pan Focus Pan Focus comes in handy when recording under conditions where Auto Focus is difficult for some reason, or in cases where Auto Focus operation noise is too noticeable in the movie audio. 1. Exposure Compensation (EV Shift) Exposure compensation lets you change the exposure setting (EV value) manually to adjust for the lighting of your subject.
