GETTING READY G PRECAUTIONS DURING USE • Charge the battery in a location where the temperature is in the range of 5°C to 35°C (41°F to 95°F). Charging outside this temperature range can cause charging to take longer than normal or even cause charging to fail. • Very limited operation following a full charge indicates that the battery has reached the end of its service life. Replace the battery with a new one. • Never wipe the battery with thinner, benzene, alcohol, or other volatile agents or chemically treated rags. Doing so can cause deformation of the battery and lead to malfunction. • This charger unit is intended to be correctly orientated in a vertical or floor mount position. G BATTERY STORAGE PRECAUTIONS • Make sure you remove the battery when you do not plan to use the camera for a long time. A battery left in the camera discharges very small amounts of power even when power is turned off, which can lead to a dead battery or the need for longer charging before the next use. • Store the battery in a cool, dry place (20°C (68 °F) or lower). G USING THE BATTERY • When transporting a battery, keep it either loaded in the camera or stored in its case. 44
