Installing Hardware Options 4-33 Installing PCI Support Compaq Enhanced Functionality Support (EFS) diskettes for Unix contain all the software components to support Compaq PCI Hot Plug. For more information, refer to the PCI Hot Plug Administration Guide on the Compaq Systems Reference Library CD, the UnixWare online documentation, or the Compaq White Paper "PCI Hot Plug Technology with SCO SoftwareArchitecture" found on the Compaq website at www.compaq.com. Supported I/O Expansion Boards The I/O board of the ProLiant 8500 has eleven PCI Hot Plug expansion slots. These slots are distributed among three PCI buses as shown in Table 4-4. The ProLiant 8500 server is shipped with a Network Interface Controller (NIC) in a slot on bus 1.
