DGS-1520 Series Gigabit Ethernet Smart Managed Switch CLI Reference Guide Parameters CURRENT-UNIT-ID NEW-PRIORITY-NUMBER Specifies the switch stacking unit being configured. Specifies the priority assigned to the switch stacking unit. The lower number means a higher priority. The range is between 1 and 63. Default By default, this value is 32. Command Mode Privileged EXEC Mode. Command Default Level Level: 12. Usage Guideline Use this command to configure the priority for the specified switch unit. When switch units are daisy-chained together as a stack, the unit with the best priority will be elected as the master. The unit with the next best priority will be elected as the backup master. A lower value means the higher priority. When two switch units have the same priority, the unit with the smaller MAC address will get the higher priority. The new priority setting will be saved in individual switch units when the user saves the configuration. Example This example shows how to configure the priority of the switch unit 2 to 10. Switch#stack 2 priority 10 Switch# 100-5 stack preempt This command is used to enable preemption of the master role to come into play when a unit with a better priority is added to the switch later. Use the no form of this command to disable preemption. stack preempt no stack preempt Parameters None. Default By default, this option is enabled. Command Mode Privileged EXEC Mode.
