Making "Modem over ISDN" Connections The analog modem over ISDN function is availabe in two ways: 1) Use the built-in hardware fax/modem. 2) Use RVS-COM Softmodem . Using ISDN MODEM built-in 56K modem 1. Connect the ISDN network connection cable and hook up the ISDN line. 2. Run RVS-COM "CommCenter". 3. Disable the "Use Softmodem" and "Use SoftwareFax to send/receive fax" function (refer to "Softmodem" and "SoftwareFax" tab). Click "Apply" and "OK". 4. Run "Config" in "Configuration Utility". 5. Enter "General" tab. 6. Click "Modem over ISDN B-Channel" in "Modem Setting (for RVSCOM)". 7. Select "Answered by Modem" in "Incoming Call Answering" (the incoming analog calls will be answered by the built-in modem). 8. Click "Apply" and "OK". 9. Open "Switch type". Choose appropriate "Voice Encoding" scheme for your location. Click "Apply" and "OK". 10. Run "HyperTerminal". Select "RVS ISDN Modem analog". 11. Now you can use the "modem over ISDN B-channel" function with "HyperTerminal" utility or other Microsoft DUN-based application programs (make new connections through Dial-Up Networking) to connect to the remote parties. Using RVS-COM Softmodem 1. Start RVSCommCenter. 2. Open Softmodem tab. Check Use Softmodem. Click OK. - 25 -
