Troubleshooting Print is Irregular or Mottled Probable Causes The media is moist from humidity. Unsupported media (wrong size, thickness, type, etc.) is being used. One or more of the imaging units may be defective. Solutions Remove the moist media and replace it with new, dry media. Use Dell-approved media. See Supported Media on page 43. Remove the imaging units one at a time, and check for damage. If it is damaged, replace it. Ink Rubs Off After Printing Probable Causes The media is moist from humidity. Unsupported media (wrong size, thickness, type, etc.) is being used. Media type is set incorrectly. Fuser is near end of life. Solutions Remove the moist media and replace it with new, dry media. Use Dell-approved media. See Supported Media on page 43. When printing envelopes, labels, heavyweight stock, or transparencies, specify the appropriate media type in the printer driver.
