A Port usage The following sections outline the collection of network ports and the corresponding services that may be found on the appliance. The appliance functions as a network client in several circumstances, for example, in communicating with a vCenter Server. In these instances, the appliance initiates communication and the network infrastructure will need to support these connections. NOTE: For additional information about ports, see KB article 000022861, PowerStore: User Network Firewall Rules Tool - TCP/UDP Ports. The tool enables you to filter and review the list of firewall rules and ports that are relevant to your PowerStore deployment. Appliance network ports Port Service Protocol 22 SSH client, Support TCP Connectivity Connect Home 25 or 587 SMTP 26 SSH client 53 DNS 80, 8080, 3128 123 Support Connectivity NTP 162 or between 1024 - 49151 SNMP 443 HTTPS TCP TCP TCP/UDP TCP TCP/UDP UDP TCP Access Direction Bi-directional Outbound Bi-directional Outbound Outbound Outbound Outbound Bi-directional Description ● Allows SSH access (if enabled). ● Required for Support Connectivity Connect Home. If closed, management connections using SSH will be unavailable. Allows the appliance to send email. If closed, email notifications will be unavailable. SSH access to port 22 is redirected to this port. If closed, management connections using SSH will be unavailable. Used to transmit DNS queries to the DNS server. If closed, DNS name resolution will not work. Used for Support Connectivity Proxy connection. NTP time synchronization. If closed, time will not be synchronized among appliances. SNMP communications. If closed, storage system alert mechanisms which rely on SNMP will not be sent. The default port set for SNMP is 162. Secure HTTP traffic to PowerStore Manager. If closed, communication with the appliance will be unavailable. Port usage 25
