Options include Residential/Wood Stud, Commercial/Steel Stud, or Concrete. BASIC OPERATION The hand-held wall scanner identifies embedded materials behind a wall surface in two steps. During the first pass over the wall surface, the pre-scan data mapping occurs. The hand-held wall scanner will automatically sense and calibrate for all embedded materials below the wall surface. When the direction of scan is reversed, the hand-held wall scanner will display the embedded materials identified. Step 1. Place unit on wall. Pre-Scan Mapping: Move in a straight line across wall surface. 4. Press the OK button (I) to confirm selection. The language and construction type will be saved. These setting can later be changed from the menu. See the Menu Options section of this manual for more information. 5. To initialize the hand-held wall scanner, ensure that the unit is off of the wall surface and that there is nothing such as a hand or other object on the back surface.
