Connecting the Cable You can connect the USB/Parallel Adapter directly to a USB port on your computer, or you can connect it to a USB hub connected to a port on your computer. If you have any printing problems when the printer is connected via a USB hub, try connecting your printer directly to the USB port on the computer instead. 1 Locate an available USB port on your computer (your USB ports may be in a different location than shown in the illustration on page 17). 2 Hold the adapter's USB connector so the icon faces to the right and connect it to the USB port, or If you're using a USB hub, plug it into the USB port on your computer, then connect the adapter to an available USB port on the hub. 16

Connecting the Cable
You can connect the USB/Parallel Adapter directly to a USB port on your
computer, or you can connect it to a USB hub connected to a port on your
computer. If you have any printing problems when the printer is connected
via a USB hub, try connecting your printer directly to the USB port on the
computer instead.
