5. If the drive is making loud or unusual noises, stop the current operation immediately. If the problem continues, contact your Authorized Epson Servicer. Hard Disk Problems If you have problems with your hard disk drive, check the following: 1. Check the hard disk drive light. If you enter commands (such as COPY) to access the hard disk, the light should be on when the computer accesses the drive. If the light is blinking, there may be a problem with the hard disk. Contact your Authorized Epson Servicer if this occurs. 2. If you have set a timeout for the hard disk in the SETUP program and it has timed out, the hard disk drive requires about 15 seconds to come back up to speed when you access it again. 3. Make sure you have formatted the hard disk correctly for the operating system you are using. See the instructions in your operating system manual. 4. Make sure the hard disk drive is inserted correctly. See Chapter 3 for instructions on removing and inserting the hard disk drive. 5. If you still cannot identify the problem, contact your Authorized Epson Servicer. Troubleshooting A-11
