Main memory The amount of memory in the computer below 1MB that is available to your operating system and application programs-usually 640KB. Also called base or conventional memory. Math coprocessor See Coprocessor. MB Megabyte. A unit used to measure storage space in a computer's memory or on a disk. One megabyte equals 1,048,576 bytes or 1024KB.
