If you do not know a handset's name, you should deregister the handset according to the following steps. During the de-registration process, it's important to keep the handset near the base. WARNING: It is not recommended that a handset be de-registered unless absolutely necessary because once a handset is deregistered, that handset's telephone features cannot be used until the handset is re-registered. 1. Use the touch-tone pad to select 1YES or 2NO, or use the CID/vol ( or ) button to scroll to 1YES or 2NO. The default setting is 2NO. 2. Press the mute/program button. 3. If you select 2NO, DEFAULT SETTING 1YES 2NO shows in the display. Proceed to the DEFAULT section. DEFAULT SETTING 1 YES 2NO 4. If you select 1YES, MOVE NEAR TO BASE displays until you move the handset closer to the base. Then the handset displays CONFIRM? 1YES 2NO. 22
