Reverse this procedure to install the top cover. Hard drive NOTE: The hard drive spare part kit includes the hard drive rubber bracket and screws. These components are included in the Hard Drive Hardware Kit, spare part number 732071-001. Description 750 GB, 5400 rpm 500 GB, 5400 rpm Hard Drive Hardware Kit (not illustrated, includes hard drive rubber bracket, 2 hard drive retention brackets, and hard drive connector cable). Spare part number 778190-001 669299-001 732071-001 Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 28), and then remove the following components: a. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 33). b. Service door (see Service door on page 29). c. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 31). d. Memory module (see Memory module on page 30). e. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 38). f. Top cover (see Top cover on page 40). Remove the hard drive: 1. Disconnect the USB/audio cable (1) by flipping open the ZIF connector and lifting the cable. Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1.
Turn
off
the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is
off
or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see

), and then remove the following components:

b.

c.
