Installing memory DIMMs You can install more memory for the printer, and you can also install a font DIMM to allow the printer to print characters for languages such as Chinese or the Cyrillic alphabet. CAUTION Static electricity can damage DIMMs. When handling DIMMs, either wear an antistatic wrist strap, or frequently touch the surface of the DIMM antistatic package and then touch bare metal on the printer. To install memory and font DIMMs 1. Turn the printer off, and then disconnect all power and interface cables. 2. On the right side of the printer, gently pull the black tabs together, and then pull the formatter assembly from the printer. 158 Appendix E Working with memory ENWW
