3.4.5 Black Enhancement This setting is used to blacken all areas below the defined lightness level. It is employed to enhance the text parts of a document, when black text is copied as gray. Valid values range from 0 to 255. If 0 is selected, the image is not modified; if 255 is selected the whole image will be black. 3.4.6 Background cleaning This setting is used to whiten all areas above the defined lightness level. Valid values range from 0 to 255. If 0 is selected the image is not modified; if 255 is selected the whole image will be white. 3.4.7 Sharpen This setting is used to sharpen the image. It enhances the edges between areas of different colors, thus resulting in better-defined text and edges. The strength of the sharpening is controlled by its value. Valid values range from 0 to 6.
