To complete the printing path, you have to access the printer specific settings by changing "Adobe Illustrator 9.0" to "Printer Specific Options". Refer to the section "Printer driver settings for MAC" to complete the process. 4.2.14 Printing path for Windows The printing path for Windows is very similar to the MAC. The only difference is in the location of settings: • Go to "File->Print" • Choose the right printer in "Name" field • In the bottom part of the window, you will see that there is a field called "Source Space" (ICC Input Profile). If your job does not have any associated ICC profile, in this field you will see "Document: Untagged CMYK" or "Document: Untagged RGB" • If an ICC profile is associated, the field "Source Space" will indicate which and will let you choose the Print Space (ICC Output Profile) and the Intent (Rendering Intent). If so, choose "PostScript Color Management" and the appropriate rendering intent. Also, as a recommendation for the rest of the settings: • "Output" is Composite • "PostScript" is Level 3 • "Data" is Binary (except in Windows NT that is ASCII) • Check "Force Fonts to Download" check box. The printer does not support "Separation Setup...", which allows you to work with the different CMYK. To complete the printing path, access the printer specific settings by clicking on the "Properties" button beside the printer name. Refer to the section "Printer driver settings for Windows" to complete the process. Software Applications Notes 36/59
