NOS installation SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 installation Section 1. Installing SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 1. Turn on the server and insert the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 SP3 (SLES9) CD 1. 2. Reboot the system to the SLES9 SP3 CD 1. 3. Select Installation, then press Enter to start the installation. 4. Remove the SLES9 SP3 CD1 and insert the SLES9 CD 2 once prompted. 5. Press Enter to proceed to the customization of your installation. Section 2. Customizing the installation Software License Agreement Read the license agreement. If the terms of the agreement are acceptable, click I Agree. Language Select the language you prefer for the installation, then click Accept to continue. Installation Setting 1. Click New Installation, then click OK. The installer automatically enables the default settings. 2. Review the default installation settings and modify them to meet your network environment. 3. Click Accept to initialize the installation process. 4. Click Yes, install on the warning dialog box to start the file copying. You may be prompted to insert the rest of the SLES9 CD-ROMs, depending on the installation settings you have chosen. After copying all the necessary files for installation, the system automatically reboots. Section 3. Completing the installation Root Password Enter a root password consisting of at least six alphanumeric characters, then click Next to continue. Network Configuration Review the Network Configuration settings and verify that they fit your environment, then click Next to continue. Test Internet Connect Skip this test. You can test the network connection after completing the NOS installation. Click Next to proceed with the installation.
