Power connector cable Description Power connector cable (includes bracket) Spare part number 686593-001 Before removing the power connector cable, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the base enclosure (see Base enclosure on page 43). 5. Disconnect the battery cable (see Battery on page 44). 6. Remove the subwoofer (see Subwoofer on page 65). 7. Remove the USB/Audio board (see USB/Audio board on page 66). Remove the power connector cable: 1. Turn the computer, with the right side toward you. 2. Disconnect the power connector cable (1) from the system board. 3. Remove the double-sided tape (2) from the power connector. Component replacement procedures 67

Before removing the power connector cable, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the base enclosure (see

5.
Disconnect the battery cable (see

).
6.
Remove the subwoofer (see

).
7.
Remove the USB/Audio board (see
USB/Audio board
on page

).
Remove the power connector cable:
1.
Turn the computer, with the right side toward you.
2.
Disconnect the power connector cable
(1)
from the system board.
3.
Remove the double-sided tape
(2)
from the power connector.
